Jun Cen

ILLUSTRATION #4

Born in Guangzhou, China 1986

Graduated from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, 2010

Currently pursuing his MFA degree at Maryland Institute College of Art, USA

Jun Cen is experimenting with various medium ranging from fine art, illustration, animation, design to independent publishing. He considers art making as a process of critical thinking. He believes that people’s conscious perception is based the pre-existing culture and morality of their social group. This is one of the major factors leading to bias. He intends to raise questions to both himself and his audience. These questions are always pointing at human’s repressed unconscious desires and anxieties. According to Cen,  one should confront himself or herself and then can he or she have an open mind to different perspectives.
